Live Online Xilinx Training Simulcast Assists Stranded Students

Katy, TX (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

Using WebEx based online Xilinx training, Faster Technology, an Approved Training Provider (ATP) for Xilinx, assisted students stranded by an early snow storm. The live web based audio, video, and desktop sharing allowed Faster Technology to simulcast a full day of instruction, both in the classroom and on the web, with a level of comprehension and interaction that enabled all students to understand the material and progress to the next level of classes.

On the first of a three day series of Xilinx FPGA training courses, an early winter storm stranded students. Quick thinking and clever adaptation of capabilities by the Faster Technology training staff enabled students to participate live via the web with colleagues in the scheduled classroom, without the aid of complex and expensive video conferencing facilities. This proof in a "rescue" situation clearly demonstrated that live remote training of complex technical topics is not only possible, but a successful alternative to traveling to a centralized classroom.

"This is the first time we have integrated the live and remote capability in a classroom and shared the interaction of local and remote students," said John McCaskill, President of Faster Technology. "Going forward, we believe adding simulcast training to our portfolio will be a critical capability which will allow companies to involve students from disparate facilities in a single training event without loss of comprehension."

Faster Technology training portfolio:

  • Traditional instructor-led classroom training
  • Remote live instructor-led online training
  • Simulcast live instructor-led training

Online and simulcast training offer multiple advantages, most notably convenience and lower overhead, while still maintaining the high quality of an instructor-led course. Simulcast training allows for employees from multiple locations to attend the same class. Since there is no travel involved, courses can be scheduled more quickly and the amount of time out of the office for students is minimized. The potential savings in travel alone may offset the cost of the training class completely. Faster Technology teaches the full-line of Xilinx training courses privately for a single company or in regularly scheduled classes open to the general public.
