Research Acceleration

The
P Series FPGA
Accelerator cards are an excellent way to
speed up a variety of medical research algorithms. Due the nature
of the FPGA architecture, parallel processing is possible which can
lead to performance enhancements in algorithms of one to two orders of
magnitude. In addition, since many medical algorithms are based
on small
word sizes, FPGAs are better equipped to handle these algorithms than
are fixed-width processors.
Other advantages of the P series are the flexibility and conveniences
it
provides. Reference designs and a library of cores are provided
to get your project completed on schedule. FGPA bitstream files
are stored on a miniSD card and are loaded on power-up. Encrypted
bitstreams are supported. With
three different
versions of the P Series (P4/P6/P10), Faster Technology offers you a
card that is
customized to the scale of your application, yet gives you the
flexibility to change your algorithm as the need arises.
Our Impulse
CTM support and reference
designs open up FPGA and hardware acceleration to a much wider
audience. No longer do you have to be a VHDL expert to take
advantage of the performance that FPGAs provide. Algorithms can
be written and tested in C before migrating over to the P Series for
speed optimization.
